News at Round Mountain

 

This is the month for the annual fundraiser that we head up in Mountain View
benefitting the Stone County Humane Society. 'Paws for the Cause" is in
its' fourth year as a day in the park for children and animals celebrates
live, love and laughter. There is a pet show complete with a parade and
Buttons the clown with outstanding trophies for all of the winners.

There will be an outstanding silent auction, an artist tent with their
treasures available for purchase, all benefitting the new Animal Shelter.
Live music will be played all day as participants play games, enjoy
outstanding food and compete for best chili, best fudge, best pumpkin bread,
best decorated pumpkin and Top Dog! Games for children and adults will be
ongoing with a pony ride and cake walk. Burgers and dogs will be offered
along with a first class bake sale and gourmet popcorn. Come and have your
face painted by a real artist and enjoy a fun day for an outstanding 'cause'!

Oct. 24th at the park in Mountain View beside Centennial Bank, 10:00 - 3:00.

The Horse Tales Literacy Project is growing daily as new states are
welcomed to the program. Currently, this literacy program that encourages
children to know the joy of reading through the magical book, The Black
Stallion is available in all states. Please let us know of your interest
and we would be delighted to share with you how to share your beloved horses
with children and give children books to keep forever through the
Horse Tales Literacy Foundation (www.bslf-online.org, or rmarab@hughes.net )
